For the 20 miles until your Quattro system fails

If a classic mopar breaks down, you look at the engine, figure out whats wrong, fix it, and drive away all in less than 2 hours

Marriages fail. Banks fail. Governments fail. The Quattro AWD system does not fail.

If an Audi breaks down, you call a tow truck, take it to the dealer, they fix what broke and 20 other things that broke along the way, then pay the $10,000 repair bill, quietly sobbing to yourself.

Except I don't

The A4 on the lift next to my van while it was getting inspected said otherwise.

fair enough
![]() 07/09/2014 at 20:25 |

Every single other thing on our A6 has broken EXCEPT the AWD system. So bah.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 20:27 |

Never had any drivetrain, engine, or electrical problems. So Bahaha.

If the transmission fell out of my car on a 500 mile trip, I could call a tow truck, get it towed to the nearest Audi dealer (let's pretend we're on the east coast, which means every block has a Dunkin Donuts and an Audi shop), have them fix the transmission, spend 15-20 minutes having a nervous breakdown when I received the bill, get back on the road, and still arrive at my destination before I would in a fully functioning Astrovan Safari. I have no idea what that proves, but bah anyways.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 20:41 |

I love the logic here that implies that a fucking Astrovan > Audi.
And you're right. Quattro is indestructible.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 20:42 |

Don't forget the chance that they will tow it on 2 wheels, ruining the drivetrain also.

Soommeeonneess in denial.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 20:45 |

yeah well...yeah
I haven't had any major repairs in the first couple months
(Shhh. Be quiet conscience. It's okay to lie in a situation like this.)
![]() 07/09/2014 at 20:47 |

IIRC, I read something about a cam position sensor or something like that having to be replaced.
No major repairs my ass.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 20:54 |

It wasn't that expensive.
(Yes conscience, I know I'm still lying. Shut up)
![]() 07/09/2014 at 21:00 |

About $500 I'm guessing? $200 for the sensor, $300 for labor. Unless both had to be replaced, in which case, about $700.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 21:05 |

It was only one. And you seem to be a little optimistic.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 21:08 |

That's just what like 2 minutes of googling brought up. It's probably cheaper, it being an older car and all.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 21:12 |
|
Cheaper! In that case, I'll be firing my mechanic tomorrow.
Just a few bucks shy of $1000
![]() 07/09/2014 at 21:17 |

In other words, what my ENTIRE CAR IS WORTH.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 21:19 |

and then pay a lot when shit breaks.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 21:33 |

Good point. But as long as not much else goes wrong, I still love it.
![]() 07/09/2014 at 21:34 |

This is true.
